Haruyo Morita is a contemporary artist from Saitama, Japan. Already as a young girl she won prizes for her drawings and paintings of beautiful Japanese women in colourful kimonos. Haruyo’s style is noticeably influenced by the drama of Kabuki theatre and the traditions of the Edo period. Especially on cool media such as acrylic glass and aluminium, the colours develop an almost hypnotic effect.
