John James Audubon was an American ornithologist and illustrator. He came to America in 1803 and dedicated himself to his passion – namely the study and documentation of birds. He is best known for his main work ‘The Birds of America’, a collection of 435 hand-shaded drawings of American birds. Even today, the work is still considered as a benchmark of drawing skills for natural painters.
